The year that went by

This is the last post of 2014, and first of all I would like to apologise for my irregularity. 2014 has been very busy for me, with my last year of school and college applications, I must say there have been major high lows this year. But, I promise much more regularity with my posts in 2015 and an even better experience with my blog with many new exciting things that I have planned for this year.
First of all I would like to thank all the people who have made life so much easier for me. With endless support from my family and friends I have been able to overcome major difficulties.
My parents, who are literally the coolest parents ever, have always supported me in anything and everything, they have been so understanding and so amazing that words are not enough to express my gratitude and love for them. My two set of lovely grandparents are the cutest grandparents ever! I mean oh my god, what would I ever do without them. They're like the best ever. They never say no to anything that I ask for and they just make life so much happier for me. How can someone ever have a bad day when they're around.
My glamorous parents

My grandparents from my dad's side.
I lost my grandfather from my dad's side this year, and it has been by far the saddest moment of my life. This is the first time I had someone so close to me pass away and that feeling is something which cannot be explained. But nevertheless my grandmom is always by my side fulfilling both roles  perfectly.

My maternal grandparents

Okay, so my grandfather literally moves ahead of times. Seriously, I don't even know where he gets all that coolness from. I could go tell him stuff which I won't even tell my parents, and that's what I do actually. He's my partner in crime. And my grandmom, well let's just say that she's the queen of the kitchen and she could put Michelin star chefs to shame.

And now it's time to talk about what makes me lose my shit and what makes me crazy happy all at one go. Well I'm just talking about friends. Nothing weird though, they were just born like this.

So this is Gayatri, my long lost soul mate. I met her this year, but it felt like I've known her for years. She's pretty insane but she's also one of those people who always make me smile. She's been my pillar of support and she has been there for me in times when no one else. Now she's one of my bestest friends and I'm glad I met her.

Oh my god! Look who it is. It's Asna and Bhavya. My people. And just FYI, they're custom made for me. They are the gems of my life. I probably can't even express how much I love them, so it's no point giving their picture but then how can I not share the two of the most important people in my life. They are the reason I have been able to get through all the tough times, they are my pillars of support. They make me happy like no one else's business. I don't have anything else to write because they know how much I love them and how much they mean to me.

Aaaaand, how can I forget my lovely photographers for whom my blog is still existent. And also they might kill me if I don't give them credits, because they did work their ass off on the pictures.

Asna Khan:
Ya, she is one of my bestest friends in this whole wide world and she's  kickass photographer. Fun fact: My first ever photoshoot for this blog was with her and even my last one uptil now was with her. And even though she could get a little scary if you don't get your poses right, she's pretty awesome.

Gayatri Choudhury:

Ya, I know what you must be thinking that why is she a photographer and not a model. Well, because she's a damn good one and this girl's got skills which are real hard to beat. P.S: She is obsessed with flower tiaras and hence this picture.

Srijan Chakrabarty:

I've known him for over 10 years now, and he's clicked for my blog, for maximum number of posts. He is good at what he does and he gets better by the day. He's one of the main reasons behind the success of this blog and he will always be a part of it. Thank you so much for all those lovely pictures.

This post has already become way too long, so I have to cut it short otherwise everyone's going to fall asleep now. So, I would really like to thank all the people who have been a part of my journey this year. It has been a great year and I am sorry for the people whom I have missed out. You know that you're very important to me and I will always love you. I hope everyone has a fabulous new years eve and an amazing year ahead. I wish each and everyone of you all the best for 2015, I hope you have a great year ahead. Thank you all for the love and support. I will see you all again in 2015 with many more exciting things. Happy New Year everyone :D

Claret-Coloured

Hello everyone. I am extremely sorry that I haven't posted anything lately. I've been very busy with school as these were my last few days of school life. My exams are almost here and this is going to probably be my last blog post for the year and till the month of April. But I do have something exciting to share with you guys.
As most of you know my blog is very new and I've previously done only two collaborations, so today I'm going to show you my third collaboration with a jewellery label called Junkin Itt, and you know what's more exciting, this label is from my city. YAY! I couldn't be a happier person when I was working on it because this something close to home and hence close to my heart.
First of all without any further due here are the pictures from my collaboration with them,

I am wearing this beautiful necklace by them. It's a chunky neckpiece with red cut stones and with a intricately designed silver border. It's a bold piece which can add colour to any dull outfit. I love how this necklace works really well with my outfit.
Junkin Itt is an amazing brand which caters well to people with various kinds of styles and taste. It has a vibrant array of jewellery and accessories. It's well stocked with fresh trends and definitely guides you through what's hot and what's not. I highly recommend this label and it is also very easy on the pocket. More and more reasons to shop away to glory. So what are you waiting for. Shop away!

Dark from Above

While the fashion industry is going gaga over fur coats and over sized knits it's not getting cold here and December has started. Well, I'm not even surprised. So, anyway since I can't sport my jackets and woollen scarves now, I put together a look for a day out which was very apt for the current weather.

I wore this grey marble print high waisted skater skirt with a grey studded vest and a acrylic shrug. It covered my hands and kept me warm as there was a slight nip in air. I teamed my outfit with a pair of black and burgundy booties which I picked up recently on a trip to London and a black hat to give it an extra edge. I wanted to add some colour so I painted my nails bright red and wore a dark lipstick.

PS: This is my last post with this hair because I have chopped it off and coloured it a darker shade of brown because my school just thought of making new rules when my school life is getting over in a week.

Soaking It In

It's mid November and winter is slowly setting in. Not as much till now but I know that it's time to bid goodbye to my sleeveless floral dresses and shorts. It's time to switch the  pastel colours with all those rich dark fall colours. For most part of the year it's summer time here so I literally spend most of the year in cotton dresses and shorts.  Earlier this week I wore one of my favourite sundress and that's also when I realised that it's time to pack all my summer wear.

I wore this sunflower printed dress teamed with blue high heels and a black wide brimmed hat. It was lunch party so I opted for a  dark red lipstick from maybelline and to add a boho effect to my look I wore colourful stacked bangles and a stone bindi to top it off.

Expression

As many of you may know, I am an aspiring fashion designer and I plan to go to a fashion college of my choice after I graduate from high school. Now, don't get weirded out by me because I'm suddenly sharing my career aspirations with you rather than writing anything actually relevant to this article.
Now, the reason I'm telling you guys all this is because I designed the dress I'm wearing in this post. Yay! (PS, some of you might find it 'nay' but that's okay).
Anyway so I mainly made this dress for my portfolio and then I did a small shoot for my portfolio, then it got me thinking that I should upload these pictures on the blog too. So, here's a very simple black dress. It's a safe design but I'm not going to complain because it's versatile and I like wearing it.

I didn't go too overboard with the jewellery, just a chunky pearl bracelet. I wore a wide brimmed hat and lennon glasses and added a pair of silver high heels to add a glam quotient. I topped it off with dark red lips because it added more character to the look especially with my hair. I'm sorry, but I'm still obsessed with my hair and also because I think I look better with dark lipstick.

Tangerine

Durga Puja, one of the biggest festivals of the world and one of the most anticipated festivals of India
is around the corner. This festival is one of the most bright and colourful festivals anyone can come across. To add on to all the excitement and fun, I collaborated with this amazing label, Vogue Lovin. They have the perfect collection for clothes, very appropriate for festivals. From bright colours to very subtle colours I love every inch of their collections.

This saree is a bright orange saree with a silverish gold border. It kind of gives way to more jewellery options. The bright colour and the dressy border adds a glam quotient whereas the black and white printed half of the saree tones it down. The border is my favourite part with a bright orange and pink piping on either side.
I teamed this saree with big silver bell earrings 'jhumkas' and silver bangles. It looked perfect with my new ombré hair and neon pink lipstick.
Vogue Lovin is very trendy which makes me go back to it again and again. They're colourful sarees are especially my favourite.
