Tangerine

Durga Puja, one of the biggest festivals of the world and one of the most anticipated festivals of India

  is around the corner. This festival is one of the most bright and colourful festivals anyone can come across. To add on to all the excitement and fun, I collaborated with this amazing label, Vogue Lovin. They have the perfect collection for clothes, very appropriate for festivals. This saree is a bright orange saree with a silverish gold border. It kind of gives way to more jewellery options. The bright colour and the dressy border adds a glam quotient whereas the black and white printed half of the saree tones it down. The border is my favourite part with a bright orange and pink piping on either side.

I teamed this saree with big silver bell earrings 'jhumkas' and silver bangles. It looked perfect with my new ombré hair and neon pink lipstick.

Vogue Lovin is very trendy which makes me go back to it again and again. They're colourful sarees are especially my favourite.

Waltzing in White

We always talk about accessorising our dresses with interesting statement pieces to stand out from the crowd. Especially when it comes to all the solid colour dresses that we wear, most of the times we feel the need to jazz it up in some or the other way to get that extra edge over someone wearing the same dress across the room. We use a lot of different accessories like shoes,bags,jewellery and even our makeup.

I teamed my little white dress with a moss green indian scarf, otherwise called a 'dupatta or a churni'. 

The chiffon material makes the scarf very flowy and gives a whimsical look. I like how the wind works as an added advantage. yay! Since it was a very soft look, I didn't try too hard with my makeup. I wore minimal make up which had a pinkish tinge and nude wedges. The hero of my look is the scarf that I added as a part of the dress which compliments the soft lace dress and with a very perfect amount of colour.

Cultural Roots

This post is my first post about traditional Indian wear and the first thing which comes to one's mind when you think of Indian wear is those wonderful  6-9 yards of wonder, a Sari. Duh! This post gets more exciting because I collaborated with a great saree label, Kauzika Design from Kerela (Pssst! Kerela cotton is one of the best in the country). 

This saree is a printed cotton saree with a blue and copper embellished border. It's perfect for summers because its light and printed but the embellished border amps it up making perfect for a day to night look with just a change of accessories and make up. It's versatile enough to be worn by a wide range of age group. I paired this saree with a black halter-neck blouse and a traditional Maharashtrian nose ring. 

This collaboration was a very good experience, I had fun doing the shoot. My saree came all the way from down south to my city, which is in east. It was great working with Kauzika Designs who are working their way to the top. They are based in Thissur, Kerela. They have an amazing collection of sarees and specialise is custom made sarees, even the one I'm wearing was made as per my request. In India it's hard to get a label to make custom made sarees but Kauzika Designs rather wants their customers to give their input to make it just the way they want it.

Swinging and Fringing

I know I haven't been regular with the blog. Again. I just got really caught up with lots of work at school and life too. I don't really have much of it though. lol. Anyways enough about me. Coming back to fashion.
So fringes have always been huge. I mean ya it's not exactly the versatile kind which can be worn with pretty much everything but it surely does spruce up one's outfit.

One might complain that my outfit here is way too simple, but that's the whole point. I'm wearing this white tank top and a pair of rolled up denims because the star of my outfit is the fringed shrug. There cannot be too much going on in one outfit. This outfit is fuss free. I teamed it with neutral accessories and a few gold accents here and there. My floral flats and laser cut clutch dolls up rather plain outfit.

Luscious Lace

It's been a long time since I posted and that's because I've been very busy with school. So finally I get a chance to post an article and that too on one of my favourite dresses. I spotted this dress in a forever21 store and I instantly fell in love with it. The colour in the print works really well for me. The navy blue colour is just perfect and those tiny white flowers add to the cuteness quotient of the dress. The oh-so-amazing lace detailing is very intricate which makes the dress look even more delicate. This dress is a very balanced mixture sexy and cute. 

This is how I wore it.

I teamed this dress with a pair of silver danglers and blue wedges. I wanted to dress up a bit so I wore wingtip liner and dark lips and a braided my hair to highlight the lace. This dress is very versatile, it's very apt for a day to dinner look which also makes it a travelling staple.

It's been quite some time since I wrote and I apologise for that. I was in turkey for summers and I had an amazing time. Getting back to the blog here. This is a new shoot that I did after I came back. This was pretty much built around my new favourite piece in my entire wardrobe.

I'm not exactly a tshirt person as I've mentioned before. But then again this tshirt is special. This quote tshirt of 'Parental Advisory' has been quite the rage in the fashion. I just couldn't resist this tshirt when I spotted it in an online store. I instantly got these amazing ideas of wearing it in different ways. In this look I went for a more sexy kind of look staying true to the quote of the tshirt. 

I teamed the tshirt with a black pencil skirt and black heels. I topped it off with dark lips and wingtip liner and messy hair.
